Warehouse mezzanine with nets along the open side

Custom safety nets

Mezzanine safety nets

Safety on and under the mezzanine: mezzanine safety nets stop objects falling to the floor below.

Mezzanine safety nets close off the open side of a mezzanine floor, between floor and ceiling or above the balustrade. That way boxes, tools and products do not fall onto people or goods below. LGA Netting makes the nets to fit your mezzanine and can supply them with steel cables and posts matching the colour of the existing railing.

Falling objects

Objects falling from a mezzanine put people and materials on the floor below at risk. A mezzanine safety net prevents injury, damage and unexpected production stoppages.

Benefits

  • Clear view

The net does not restrict visibility, so overview and daylight are preserved.

  • Communication

Staff stay in contact between floors, which is good for safety.

  • Adaptable

If the mezzanine changes, the nets are quick to remove or adapt.

Versions

The version depends on how your mezzanine is built:

  • Floor-to-ceiling net along the open side.
  • Net between a steel cable and the existing balustrade.
  • Net with steel cable and railing posts in the same colour as the existing railing.
  • Nets at loading openings and stairwells on the mezzanine.

Tailored to your mezzanine

Our mezzanine safety nets are available in various twine thicknesses, breaking strengths and mesh sizes, in polypropylene or polyethylene. We choose the net based on what is stored on the mezzanine.

We tailor the installation to the mezzanine structure, so the net hangs taut and the finish matches the existing railing.

What determines the price?

Every project is bespoke, so we work with a quote. These factors determine the price:

  • Dimensions: the number of square metres of net, or the number of racking bays or linear metres.
  • Working height and access: whether a cherry picker or scaffolding is needed.
  • Type of net: strength, mesh size, twine thickness and colour.
  • Fixing: to racking, a steel structure, concrete or a facade, with steel cables, posts or a tube frame.
  • Extras such as collision protection, passageways or removable sections.
  • Scheduling: installation during business hours, outside business hours or in phases.

Frequently asked questions

Isn’t a balustrade on a mezzanine enough?

A balustrade stops people falling, but boxes, tools and small products can often fall underneath or through it. A mezzanine safety net closes those gaps, up to the ceiling or to a steel cable above the railing. That way the people on the floor below are also protected from falling objects.

Can the net match the colour of the existing railing?

Yes. We can supply the net with steel cables and railing posts in the same colour as the existing balustrade, so it all looks like one structure. You can also choose the colour of the net itself. Include a photo of the railing with your enquiry, and we will match the version to it.

How is a mezzanine safety net fixed?

That depends on the structure. We fix the net to the floor edge, the balustrade, the ceiling or steel cables that we tension between columns. Where needed, we add extra posts. We check in advance which fixing is strong enough for the net and for the load stored on the mezzanine above.

Can loading openings stay open?

Yes. At a loading opening or pallet transfer point, we can make the net so the opening remains usable, for example with a removable or sliding section. Discuss in your enquiry which areas need to stay accessible, and we will include that in the design and the quote for your project.
