Custom safety nets
Bird netting
Keep pigeons and other birds away from canopies, sheds, distribution centres and warehouses.
Bird netting closes off places where birds like to nest, such as canopies above loading docks, roof edges, overhangs and technical installations. That keeps droppings, nests and fouling out of and around your building. LGA Netting chooses mesh size and twine thickness for the bird species and installs the nets to fit the building, including around lamps and curved walls.
Keep birds out
Nesting birds cause serious hygiene problems through droppings in and around buildings. That leads to fouling, damage, health risks and extra cleaning costs. At loading docks and where food or packaging is stored, this is especially unwelcome.
Benefits
Inspection
Thanks to the open net, the structure stays visible for inspection and maintenance.
Durable
Weather resistant, for long-lasting protection.
Hygienic
Without birds, your working environment stays cleaner.
Applications
We install bird netting in places such as:
- Under canopies at loading docks.
- In a tube frame above technical installations on the roof.
- Around lamps, so maintenance remains possible.
- Vertically in front of openings in facades and canopies.
- Made to measure along curved walls and unusual shapes.
Tailored to the bird species
We supply bird netting in polypropylene or polyethylene, matched to the environment and the required service life. We choose mesh size and twine thickness for the bird species, for example pigeons or smaller birds.
During installation we take the building structure into account, so no gaps remain where birds could still get in.
Used in
- Loading docks and canopies
- Distribution centres

Installation and handover
Our installers fit the net on the agreed day and hand over the work neatly.
What determines the price?
Every project is bespoke, so we work with a quote. These factors determine the price:
- Dimensions: the number of square metres of net, or the number of racking bays or linear metres.
- Working height and access: whether a cherry picker or scaffolding is needed.
- Type of net: strength, mesh size, twine thickness and colour.
- Fixing: to racking, a steel structure, concrete or a facade, with steel cables, posts or a tube frame.
- Extras such as collision protection, passageways or removable sections.
- Scheduling: installation during business hours, outside business hours or in phases.
Frequently asked questions
Is bird netting animal friendly?
Yes. A net keeps birds away from a place without harming them. They simply can no longer get in and find somewhere else. It is important that no birds or nests are behind the net when it is installed. We check for this, and we plan around the breeding season where necessary.
What mesh size is needed for pigeon netting?
For pigeons, a larger mesh size is sufficient than for small birds such as sparrows and starlings. So the birds at your site determine the net. A mesh that is too large lets smaller birds through, while one that is too small is needlessly heavy and visible. Send a photo or description and we will advise.
Can lamps and installations behind the net still be maintained?
Yes. We can install the net around lamps and installations, or make sections detachable, so maintenance remains possible. Thanks to the open net, the structure also stays visible for inspection. Tell us in your enquiry which parts need to stay accessible, and we will take that into account in the design.
How long does bird netting last?
Our nets are made for outdoor use and resist the weather. How long a net lasts depends on the material, exposure to sun and wind, and the installation. With the quote, we advise which material suits the location and the required service life, so you know exactly where you stand.
