Racking safety nets

Extra safety in the warehouse: pallet racking nets keep products in the racking, preventing incidents and downtime.

Racking safety nets are fitted to the back or side of pallet racking or shelving and stop products falling out on the other side. LGA Netting measures the racking, makes the nets to measure and installs them directly on the racking, with spacers or tensioned free of the racking, depending on your situation.

Prevent incidents

Pallets or products falling from racking are dangerous for staff and goods. They can cause injury, material damage, process delays or liability. A racking net holds the load back where the risk arises.

Benefits

  • Transparent

You always keep sight of your products and stock.

  • Communication

Sight and sound are preserved, so colleagues stay in contact. That helps safety and teamwork.

  • Reconfiguration

If the warehouse layout changes, the nets are quick to dismantle.

Mounting options

Every racking system is different. We mount racking safety nets in several ways:

  • Directly on the racking, with no gap.
  • With spacers and steel cables on the racking.
  • Tensioned free of the racking, so no forces are placed on it.
  • With an opening for a passageway or emergency exit.
  • Connected at the bottom to collision protection.

Tailored to your racking

We supply racking safety nets in polypropylene or polyethylene, in various twine thicknesses, breaking strengths and mesh sizes. We match the specifications to the products in the racking, the height and the type of racking.

Colour is your choice: a high-visibility net marks the racking, a neutral net is barely noticeable.

Used in

  • Pallet racking
  • Shelving
  • Distribution centres

What determines the price?

Every project is bespoke, so we work with a quote. These factors determine the price:

  • Dimensions: the number of square metres of net, or the number of racking bays or linear metres.
  • Working height and access: whether a cherry picker or scaffolding is needed.
  • Type of net: strength, mesh size, twine thickness and colour.
  • Fixing: to racking, a steel structure, concrete or a facade, with steel cables, posts or a tube frame.
  • Extras such as collision protection, passageways or removable sections.
  • Scheduling: installation during business hours, outside business hours or in phases.

Frequently asked questions

Do racking safety nets put load on the racking?

That depends on the mounting. A net fitted directly on the racking or with spacers transfers forces to the racking. Where that is not desirable, we tension the net free of the racking, on its own structure or on the building. We check in advance which mounting is safe for your racking type and load.

Can the racking net include a passageway?

Yes. We can make an opening in the net for a walkway, passageway or emergency exit, with a neat finish along the edges. The route stays clear and the rest of the racking stays screened off. Tell us in your enquiry where the passageways are, and we will include them in the design.

What information do you need for a quote?

It helps if you send us the length and height of the racking, the number of bays, the type of racking and what is stored in it. Photos of the racking and its surroundings are very valuable. With that information we prepare an initial quote. For larger or complex projects, we visit the site where needed.

Does the warehouse have to shut down during installation?

Usually not. We schedule the installation with you, aisle by aisle or zone by zone, so the rest of the warehouse can keep working. Where needed, we install outside business hours or in phases. Discuss your requirements in your enquiry, and we will take them into account in the schedule and the quote.
