Ceiling protection nets hang below the ceiling of a sports hall and stop balls hitting lighting, ceiling tiles and installations. They also catch loose parts, so these do not fall on players. LGA Netting makes the nets to fit the hall and installs them with fixings that suit the roof structure and the ceiling.

Tailored to your sports hall
Our ceiling protection nets are made of strong polypropylene or polyethylene and available in various mesh sizes, twine thicknesses and strengths. We choose the mesh size based on the smallest ball used in the hall.

What determines the price?
Every project is bespoke, so we work with a quote. These factors determine the price:
- Dimensions: the number of square metres of net, or the number of racking bays or linear metres.
- Working height and access: whether a cherry picker or scaffolding is needed.
- Type of net: strength, mesh size, twine thickness and colour.
- Fixing: to racking, a steel structure, concrete or a facade, with steel cables, posts or a tube frame.
- Extras such as collision protection, passageways or removable sections.
- Scheduling: installation during business hours, outside business hours or in phases.
Frequently asked questions
What mesh size does a sports hall need?
That depends on the sports played in the hall. The mesh size must be smaller than the smallest ball used, so no ball can pass through the net. A hall for futsal and basketball needs something different from a hall where smaller balls are also used. We advise you based on how the hall is used.
Is a ceiling net very noticeable?
Hardly. We choose the colour of the net to suit the ceiling: white against a light ceiling, black against a dark one. The net hangs taut below the ceiling, so the hall looks calm and uncluttered. The lighting keeps working well and no distracting shadows are cast on the floor.
Can the ceiling still be inspected?
Yes. Thanks to the open net, the ceiling, lighting and installations stay visible for inspection. Where maintenance is needed, we can make sections of the net detachable. In your enquiry, tell us where there are installations that need regular maintenance, and we will take that into account in the design.
Can the nets be installed without closing the hall for long?
We schedule the installation with the facility manager, for example during a holiday or on days when the hall is used less. How long installation takes depends on the size of the hall and how easy it is to reach the ceiling. In the quote we state how many days we need.
