Ceiling catch nets

Protection against falling ceiling tiles and materials, so the spaces below stay safe and open.

Ceiling catch nets hang below a ceiling or canopy and catch loose ceiling tiles, insulation or other materials before they hit anyone. They are used in public buildings, stations, atriums and commercial halls, often as a measure until a ceiling is repaired. LGA Netting chooses the net based on the weight and type of material to be caught.

Prevent injury

Loose ceiling tiles or materials are a danger to staff, visitors and goods in public and commercial spaces. A ceiling catch net ensures falling material causes no damage or injury, and that the space can stay in use.

Benefits

  • Transparent

You keep sight of the ceiling and no light is lost.

  • Inspection

Inspection and maintenance of the ceiling and the installations above it stay simple.

  • Safety

People below are protected from falling objects.

Versions

A ceiling catch net can be fitted in several ways:

  • Net directly below a suspended ceiling or canopy.
  • Horizontal net in an atrium or void.
  • Net in a tube frame above a workstation in a production hall.
  • Temporary net as a measure until the ceiling is repaired.

Made to suit the situation

Ceiling catch nets are available in various twine thicknesses and mesh sizes. We choose the net based on the weight and type of material to be caught, and advise you on the choice.

We install the net so the space below is disrupted as little as possible, including during installation.

What determines the price?

Every project is bespoke, so we work with a quote. These factors determine the price:

  • Dimensions: the number of square metres of net, or the number of racking bays or linear metres.
  • Working height and access: whether a cherry picker or scaffolding is needed.
  • Type of net: strength, mesh size, twine thickness and colour.
  • Fixing: to racking, a steel structure, concrete or a facade, with steel cables, posts or a tube frame.
  • Extras such as collision protection, passageways or removable sections.
  • Scheduling: installation during business hours, outside business hours or in phases.

Frequently asked questions

Is a ceiling catch net a temporary or permanent solution?

Both are possible. A ceiling catch net is often installed as an immediate measure once ceiling tiles come loose, so the space stays safely in use until the ceiling is repaired. The net can also stay permanently, for example under older ceilings or canopies. We match the version and fixing to how long the net needs to stay.

What net is needed for heavy ceiling tiles?

That depends on the weight and size of the tiles or materials and the height they could fall from. Based on that, we choose the twine thickness, mesh size and fixing. Tell us in your enquiry which ceiling it concerns, ideally with photos, and we will advise you on which net is suitable.

Can the space stay open during installation?

Often, partly. We work zone by zone and only cordon off the area where we are installing at that moment. In public spaces such as stations and halls, we schedule the installation with you, for example outside peak hours. That keeps the disruption for users and visitors as small as possible.

Can installations above the net still be maintained?

Yes. The net is open, so the ceiling and installations stay visible. Where regular maintenance is needed, for example on lighting or air handling units, we can make sections of the net detachable. Discuss in your enquiry which installations need to stay accessible, and we will include that in the design.
